This activity uses a dedicated boat from Naha to visit snorkeling areas around the Kerama Islands without arranging the public ferry yourself. It is a different choice from a trip intended to visit Zamami Island itself.

After disembarking, walk to Ao no Yukuru Kan near the port.

Buy a round-trip bus ticket for Furuzamami Beach

Furuzamami Beach has no ticket machine, so before boarding, buy a round-trip ticket from the machine inside Ao no Yukuru Kan and then move to the bus stop in front of the building.

Leave Zamami Port by village bus

Take the 10:30 bus to Furuzamami Beach. If disembarkation and ticket purchase finish early, the 10:10 bus is also available; this example uses 10:30 to allow more transfer time.

Spend the day at Furuzamami Beach at your own pace. Start getting changed and packing your belongings around 15:45 so you have plenty of time to catch the 16:25 return bus.

Two days, one night: visit the beaches on separate days

This itinerary uses accommodation in Zamami village as a base for Furuzamami and Ama beaches.

Day 1: Furuzamami Beach

Where to leave your luggage near the port

The ferry waiting area is not the only place with lockers. We also found three locker sizes inside Zamami-Mun Market, and a luggage-storage service was available near the port.

The village bus leaves from Ao no Yukuru Kan

The stop is in front of the Ao no Yukuru Kan Visitor Center, near Zamami Port.

Buy your ticket from the vending machine inside before boarding. Finding both the visitor center and the bus stop as soon as you arrive makes the beach transfer easier.

Beach facilities differ more than you might expect

We found a different set of facilities at Furuzamami and Ama Beach.

ATM and groceries are in the main village

We confirmed a bank ATM sign at the entrance to Zamami Post Office.

The main village, within walking distance of the port, also has 105 Store. At the time of our visit, its hours were 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
